DSE prices slipping
Dhaka, Oct 31—Trading at the country's premier bourse on the week's second day is seeing falling prices amidst fluctuations with the general index shedding 67 points with only 15 minutes of the day's trade left.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange general index stood at 5009.68 losing 1.33 percent at 2.45pm on Monday. Shares worth Tk 2.49 billion have changed hands with prices of 37 issues rising, 203 declining and six remaining unchanged.
Traffic at Motijheel came to a halt again after retail investors staged a street demonstration protesting the steep fall in share prices on Sunday. The benchmark index lost 231.65 points or 4.36 percent to stand at 5077.12 points.
Last week, the index shed 237 points to stand at 5308.79 points at close on Thursday.
